Somebody needs a punch in the cock.
Spanky (
nosarious' cat) went missing two nights ago. He found him on the City Pound's website. Today he gets to go down and pay whatever fines are required to get Spanky back.
The pound is supposed to let us know when this happens, assuming they can figure out who we are. Funny thing about that - between the last time we saw Spanky and when he was turned in,his collar and tags went missing (edit: apparently not - they just couldn't be seen in the picture on the website, and they hadn't gotten around to collecting the data to contact
nosarious). Spanky is quite used to his collar and has never gotten out of it to my knowledge.
I doubt the city is going to let us know who turned him in. I have my suspicions though.
It takes a special kind of asshole to get off on trapping innocent animals.

Date: 2010-10-28 04:22 pm (UTC)If you do find out it's who you suspected it is (and I have to agree it's highly likely it's him) you might be able to issue a complaint to the city to get his trap taken away since he is now removing tags to up the fines. Yes I know he'll deny it but it's worth a shot, at least to put it on record that you suspect he's doing it.

Date: 2010-10-28 04:49 pm (UTC)True taking off the tags is remarkably douchy, but maybe the cat shouldn't be wandering around in the first place. I always kept Rhogan on a leash if I wasn't there to watch her to keep things like that from being a problem.

Sigh. I love cats, but this sort of shit is exactly why I don't own one.

Date: 2010-10-28 05:24 pm (UTC)Two problems with that:
1. Not everyone is comfortable with doing that, I didn't approach my neighbours about it partly because of this & partly because,
2. You don't always know who the cat belongs to. I know in your case that's not the problem but in my neighbourhood we have 5 or 6 I would regularly see out & about... only 2 of which I know the owners of.
My solution was simply to buy a cat scarer that sends out a sonic pulse when it detects movement. It solved the problem of cats & the jack rabbits... 2 birds with 1 stone! :)

Date: 2010-10-28 05:32 pm (UTC)I quite agree that the cat shouldn't be out, but the biggest danger to its welfare is this neighbor himself. I can easily believe he is capable of simply killing Spanky or releasing it far away. I suppose the fact that he's sending them to the pound is a positive.
I'd suggest the cat scare-er, except it's clear he enjoys the current state of affairs.
