Woke up. Checked my email and my daily web comics. Came back to my room to prepare for my morning shower. Saw that in the 20 minutes that I'd left my door open, Flynn decided to crap on my bed. Again. For the fourth time.

And it was a pretty big shit for such a small cat. I swear to god I think he saves it up as long as he can in case an opportunity presents itself. It's always the same spot too - it's not like there's crap all over the house because he can't hold it in.

He got a nose full for his troubles and a timeout on the litter box.

On the bright side, I've been changing my linens more often.

He must be mad at you. My sister used to have a cat that did that sometimes, but it was pee and I had to keep washing my blankets. Try being nice to him and pet him, maybe he'll stop. That or pee on him or poop on his bed and see if that works.

From what I know about cats, it could be that he's mad or stressed out for some reason or another but if this is a fairly new thing it could be very likely that he's sick and trying to tell you he needs help. A trip to the vet may be in order to make sure he doesn't have an infection. If that's the case he sees you as the alpha and is coming to you for help, hence why it's always in the same spot, he knows you'll see it.

Agree with this comment. Cats are generally very clean so this is a message. The point crap was often a mark the litter box was too dirty (for some cats this varies from dirty to a poop or two, cats are odd that way).

Something to check is the litter box for anything that looks crystalline, that means a urinary track infection.

Ya, if you've never paid much attention to him and haven't changed your routine (and assuming he gets attention from the others in the house) it's likely a sign. Either medical or a dominance thing. Hopefully it's an easy fix and if it turns out to be a dominance thing, I can give you some suggestions that have worked with my cats.

Maybe someone needs more love. Rogan would get right pissy with me, if I wasn't home enough, though her methods were less messy and more pointed.

Hmmm, didn't see this before my last post. Sounds very much like what we have been going through with Hugo. Part stress of being in a new place (this will play havoc on a cat's digestion) and part stealing spanky's food. They may want to have a chat and try to find something both cats can eat to take that problem out of the equation. We had to do that with our cats and seem to have sorted out the runny crap problem. This still leads me to believe it's medical (infection or just upset stomach from stress, diet or environment) and he sees you as the person he needs to tell. Just because you generally ignore him doesn't mean he doesn't consider you the boss.

For now that may be the best thing... sucks though.

Try picking up a citrus spray at a pet store... cat's don't like citrus. If you spritz your bed with a lemon juice/water solution it could bleach/lighten the sheets, but hey.. if it works..
