So I ordered some stuff from Sport Kilt and they sent it out via FedEx almost instantly (it was out of their store the next day). That's the good news.

The bad news is that nobody was home when they tried to deliver it yesterday. They left a note on my door saying they'd try again today.

The ugly news is that they were lying.

There I was putting on my boots, getting ready to walk to work. I saw the notification sitting there and it had a little sticker you could sign if you just wanted them to drop off your package without you being there. I signed it and opened the door to stick it on the mail box. On the mail box was another notification, saying that they had made there second attempt and (having missed me) would just leave it at the depot for me to pick up.

Here's the thing though. It was 9:30. I had been up since 7 am and at no point did I hear anyone come up to the door. Fucker just filled out the form, stuck it to the door and didn't even attempt to deliver the package into my hands.

I'd bitch, but I don't think it would matter. I'm not the paying customer in Fedex's eyes.

Yeah. Happened to me, too. Devil Bunny had to pick up the package at their depot (which is, thankfully, near archery). Then, the fornicators had the audacity to send me a bill for their customs brokerage fees. Needless to say, that's one letter that went unanswered.

Personally, I'd e-mail the goatstuffers and get them to deliver it again. They are, after all, supposed to 1) actually ring the doorbell; and 2) make three delivery attempts before requesting you pick up your package at the depot....

There was no note when I left this morning at 8am.

Hey, I got a package waiting at Fedex for me too. Wanna pick mine up as well? :P Might be a bomb, though. Or anthrax. I don't know who the hell is sending me a package.

When you go to pick up your package, ask to see Rita Dore. She's the customer service manager. Tell her what happened, and that you want her to ask the courier on your route wtf?

Bad courier! >:/

You mean there are couriers that aren't like that? It's the norm in my experience, rather than the exception.

Hmmm...I'd meant FedEx couriers specifically. UPS seems to be as bad or worse. Purolator and DHL seem to suck less.

UPS is definitely worse! Purolator gives me the wiggins.

Very few people who drive packages around for a living are the brightest bulbs in the box. Sometimes it surprised me that they could even read. Still, there are a few exceptions.

Hmmm.....yeah, I don't know. I'm weighing the two and have probably had equally bad customer service from both. But FedEx has actually ripped me off more, so...*shrug* Hard to say.

*sigh* The Calgary station is totally FUBAR'd. People from other places can't believe how bad it is here.

*nod* Although I also got screwed over by a couple of locations in Washington state. Ah well.

I personally know of ... three, maybe four. (heh)

Heh. Well, maybe they're saved for corporate deliveries, cause I never see them. It's to the point where I refuse to buy anything online that will only be sent by FedEx or UPS. I'll write them and tell them why, and if they don't offer an alternative I'll take my business elsewhere. I've had uniformly abysmal experiences with FedEx and UPS both.

Does FedEx try to satisfy your complaint?

Wait. Why do I even care? They ALL suck. I just think FedEx sucks less. Mostly.

Nope. Routinely blown off, and no one showed the slightest spark of caring. And I'm *dead* nice to customer service people, since I've worked phones myself a time or two...

I am sorry to hear that. Not that I can do anything about it now, but still, I hate it when companies with all the corporate bullshit about customer service (that looks so good on paper) rip off the actual customers....

Mind you, when you call CSRs, you get some doof in Toronto or Halifax, not an actual person at the physical Calgary building.

*nod* But I also went down to the local station to get blown off in person. :-)

I had the misfortune of doing a facility evaluation on one of FedEx's distribution centers in Winterpeg last year and now perhaps I can see why it all sucks. A) if you had to work in those conditions with b)those monkeys in c) THAT building I'd probably stop wanting live too. Customer? A wha...? As a customer you are lost to the misery long before your package ever leaves the place. The customs officer that had to go through your package was the most miserable of all.

We accidentally got ourselves locked in the room with all the packages. It took us 20 minutes of pounding on the office door for someone to think to wonder why there was a pounding at the door (which lead directly into the main office theoretically full of people). Then another terse exchange through the door asking who we were and why were we in the room without another employee with us. We told them they had just watched up come through the office earlier, could they just please let us in? They had to get their supervisor. It was surreal.

Side note: The "Package Room" felt like that underground warehouse in Indian Jones the Lost Ark, at then end... things in boxes destined never to leave.
