Relief at Last

There's a feeling you get when something that has been bothering you for a long time is finally resolved. Where you don't realize just how irritating it was until it's over. Like the feeling you get when you floss out a piece of popcorn and suddenly it's just so good to be gone, even though you didn't realize it was there.
I get that feeling when there's information that I want and I just can't find the answer. For example, there is a song that Eeyore put on a mix tape for me way back when we were still friends. I would have been eighteen or nineteen at the time. A few years later the tape was destroyed when my brother borrowed it for a trip out to the coal mines and the driver of the truck he was in (not him) drove off a cliff into a mountain lake. They weren't hurt, but he did manage to destroy about ten tapes of mine. Everything was replaceable except for this one song.
Over the years I would try to figure out what the song was, usually by reciting half-remembered lyrics to people I knew who had extensive musical knowledge (
thebrucie or
kermie_canada). No one knew. I was even advised to ask CKUA (the local oddball radio station) though I never got around to it.
Google didn't help for years, until tonight that is when I found the song. It's called "Haunting" and it's by a band called "The Front", released in 1983. Thanks to Harry S. Anchan's favorite RARE CANADIAN hits page for finally scratching this itch after ten years of searching.
