Stains

From upstairs I hear my roommate yell down:

"I'll pay for your rug, and you should come see this."

Not the sort of thing that fills you with confidence.

So we went to StupidStore yesterday and kermie_canada bought a bunch of containers for dying eggs in (Her ancestors were Ukrainian, and you just can't shake some of these dumb traditions).

When we got home (and after unpacking the insane amount of groceries we bought), I went downstairs and she began making dye. This involved diluting the concentrated dye in boiling hot water. She poured the mixture into the first two containers. They immediately suffered a catastrophic collapse as they melted into modern art.

This dumped the red and blue dyes onto my beige carpet.

Well she was a lot more upset than I was, and kicked herself quite a bit for being clumsy (not that clumsiness had anything to do with the inferior plastic in the containers). myself, I just figure shit happens. Oh, and I suggested that the kitchen sink might be a better venue for dyes.

She's going to try and steam clean it out. In the mean time my dining room looks like we stomped on a couple of Smurfs and did our level best to grind them into the carpet.

I'm looking for something artsticky in the apartment to go along with my unlight fixture...
