After Muir Woods, we decided to go the best Tiki Bar I've ever been to. This was LA's idea - she had done some research and had discovered The Tonga Room and Hurricane Bar at the beautiful Fairmont San Francisco. You can (and should) read it's history here.
Sadly, I didn't take that many pictures with my own camera. Mostly I took pictures for LA and
thebrucie with their cameras. These I did take:

The Pineapple Royale. When I saw it on the menu, I knew that this joint was now on my must see list for SF trips.

The happy couple enjoying some slushy, boozy goodness.
The band was playing lots of classic rock standards. The food and the liquor were great. The ambiance was fantastic. I got good and drunk and had a great time with my friends.
And it wasn't just us - everyone was having a great time. Hell, there was a big party at a neighbouring table which included some elderly grandparents. The old folks were both dressed sharp. Hell, I could do with half the style that old guy had at 80, right now!
Speaking of happy people, this was the most obvious photobombing ever...

... At least to the photographer (yours truly) who was totally in on it. The woman in the picture basically got out of her chair at the next table when the couple asked me to take their picture. And she stood there through two photos while I tried to get things right (I was two strong drinks in at this point). It makes me happy that he posted it, even if it isn't that great a picture.
I want to get a bunch more friends to go to SF with me just so we can enjoy this. Lacking that kind of wherewithal, I'll settle for attempting to make a bunch of these drinks at a tiki-themed summer party. If only I knew someone with a tiki bar, who enjoys throwing summer parties and mixing drinks. Oh wait, I do! My happiness over being here? Multiply it by ten to get his happiness.
