Shorter Same-Sex Marriage Rant.

jamesqSo I was utterly shocked to discover that one of the SCAdians I know is against same-sex marriage. She's in the "same-sex marriage will undermine traditional marriage" camp. I pressed her for an explanation as to how it would undermine traditional marriage, but was unsatisfied by her responses. The best she could do a vague assertion that kids have too much to worry about these days without having to pile this on them too.
It is not my responsibility to raise your kids.
She also made the Jason Kenney argument that there is no discrimination because gay people can still marry members of the opposite sex. Ugh. The least she could do is come up with something less laughable than that.
And the weird thing is, she seems reasonable in all other respects (i.e. she isn't an ignorant hillbilly). I wouldn't have guessed it from her.
