Meme-oires 27: Your Favorite Place

jamesqI'm not sure that I have one favorite place. I have numerous favorites depending on the situation.
At home my favorite place is probably the television room in the basement. It's where I keep my primary computer. It's been fitted out to my liking since I moved in and it's the room I'm most likely to devote chore time to. This is compared to my bedroom that is a pig sty and really exists only to give me a place to sleep and store my clothing.
If I'm sick of the house, or I want to get away from my roommates, I'll often spend time in the garage. Not being a handy person, my usual garage project is the garage itself. I'll clean or organize it mostly as an exercise in busy work to quiet my mind when I'm pissed off. The garage is also the place on my property that is most identified as "mine". It's the place (other then my bedroom) that I don't really share with other people. I'm not sure that my two newest tenants have ever been in the garage aside from times I've given them rides.
Which reminds me, I really need to clean the place before it starts getting cold.
When I travel I have some favorite places to go. Victoria always means a trip to The Tapas Bar in Trounce Alley. Vancouver usually means me-time in Calhoun's and visit-time in the Clubhouse.
When I was in Scotland, I really enjoyed exploring Plane Castle. I'll get back there sometime I promise.
I can't really think of places like that in Calgary. Calgary simply is and forms background rather then destination if that makes any sense.
Despite the number of times I want to go, I don't really have a favorite place in Banff. Banff for me is more about the journey then the destination. It give me something to do rather then a place to go.
