Meme-oires 20: A Month in Detail

jamesqIt's not a calendar month, it's the 31 days from August 22nd to September 23rd! If we want to tie that time to something more concrete, today is the Autumnal Equinox, so it's the first day of Fall. So this would be the last month of summer.
This time for me is usually one of routine. It's a sort of hum-drum time between the adventures of Summer and the irritations of the B2VDSS.
This years has been more hum-drum then most. I think this is because of my current SCA burnout - the last event I went to was Quad War and the next event will likely be Harvest Feast. I've was at the last council meeting and tavern and I've been to archery practices. Of course taverns and practices are for me - I do them because I enjoy them. Council is more of an obligation these days. I'll keep going as long as the current Baron and Baroness are around - afterward we'll see.
So that's been the extent of my SCA activities over the month. What else have I done?
Worked mostly, and not even exciting work - I've been helping out other departments with their projects instead of my own. There's also been just enough tech support to do to keep me distracted, but none of it's been terribly difficult. The sort of thing that requires a knowledgeable insider to take your hand and walk you through things, but nothing more onerous than that. In this scenario, I'm the knowledgeable insider.
I had two four-day weekends in a row. The first due to the holiday and the second due to illness. I'd like more of the former and less of the latter.

garething, stephtopia, devoidofthought and her sister M. It was just a quick jaunt out for dinner, candy and a soak in the hot springs.
I've been writing entries for this meme. This has led to more introspection then normal. This and the usual issues have conspired to let my personal demons nibble at me. I've been not-depressed a lot more then I've been depressed (i.e. when it's happened it's never been more then for a day or two). I'll take that as a win, though I'd prefer a higher point-spread.
I've been planning out my upcoming Vegas trip. That's been fun in an OCD kinda way (tweaking things here and there to get a more "efficient" trip). Conversely the Victoria/Vancouver trip that's going to happen sooner (16 days - woot!) requires no planning whatsoever - I've got my flights and rooms booked and that's all I really care about.
I've seen Inception and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World in the cinema. I saw Twelve Angry Men in the theatre and I watched all three seasons of Chuck in my basement.
Other then that, I've visited friends, did the occasional chore and basically coasted along. It's just been one of those lazy months for me.
