I sorta think I fall into Heretic Type B: I was a member of a faith that neither me nor my family ever claimed to be the one true one, but the one that we were culturally comfortable with, but now I'm gently agnostic and will participate with family and friends on occasion in whatever way seems appropriate, while acknowledging that St. Francis really kinda rocked?

ETA: and since I'm reading posts backwards, just saw your previous entry: Hideous. Absolutely reprehensible. Part of the reason my family was threatened with ex-communication as far back as the 1970s was that we objected to the things in the Church that were making that sort of thing possible: authoritarianism, mindless hierarchy, misogyny, fear of sexuality, homophobia, etc...
