Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi is a controversial Islamic scholar who approves of wife-beating and believes in traditional family values. The Mormon church, having abandoned polygamy more than a century ago, believes in traditional families too.


If the radical Islamists, Evangelicals and Mormons all agree on something, run the other way. It would be a world where The Handmaid's Tale is fact, not fiction.

I just love the term "Traditional" when prepended to Marriage or "Family Values". Whose traditions are we _really_ talking about really? (Clearly not mine - I wouldn't exactly put spousal abuse down as acceptable behaviour - tradition or not)
