Saw Elektra. It sucked.

How bad did it suck? In a movie that prominently featured Jennifer Garner's midriff, Terrence Stamp was the sole positive attraction.

Oh, had a nice discussion prior to the movie, that drew in a cute blonde from two rows ahead of us.

I noticed a few things in the movie. First, there is a "Marvel" title shot at the beginning of any Marvel property films (Spider Man, Hulk, etc.) This consists of a lightning fast montage of comic strip panels. I hadn't noticed before, but the one for Elektra consisted of nothing but Elektra strips. I had always thought it was generic, with lots of differnt characters. Now I have to pay attention for the next one (Fantastic Four, which we saw the trailer for).

The other thing I noticed is that they were setting up Elektra to be Obsessive-Compulsive about counting her steps. This was obviously foreshadowing for the movie's climax (which takes place in a hedge maze that Elektra played in as a child). But here's the thing - they set it up, then failed to actually spell it out when it happens. Given how other things were as subtle as a zeppelin in a corn field, it couldn't have anything but an oversight.

Ultimately, the movie suffered fromt he seven little words that spell death for any story:
I don't care what happens to these characters.
In other news, I ran 3/2*7=35 minutes today.
