Hey that's really good. It made me think of something along the lines of:
A small boy and his sister maybe twins move into an old house with their Mom and Dad. They discover this magical painting in the attic. They believe it's all wonderful until his sister gets kidnapped by an evil from the painting. An evil that is bent of taking over and corrupting the world of the painting and the real world beyond. Now it is up to one little boy with enough courage and bravery to step into the painting and seek unlikely allies in order to save his sister and defeat the evil that threatens all. With him he takes his cat, which is no ordinary cat, but a being of immense, but limited power.
Something like that is what it made me think. Oh how I love creativity. I love how I can come up with something like this when I see or read something and then another person may be similarly inspired and come up with something completely different. Your poem was fantastic.

full of wonder and delight
imagination takes full flight.
Backpack ready and full up
Teddy tucked in with chin up
sword and string at the ready
advance forward brave and steady.
In the mind of one small boy
all the wonders of the sky
earth, water, fire, storm
go forward past the norm.
