My brain just had a segmentation fault and it now rebooting. It's taking some time running a diagnostic right now to try and figure out what the hell just happened.

By way of analogy, imagine the following exchange:

"How did you get that free trip to Cancun?"
"Oh, the blue fairy came down, waved her magic wand, and the tickets and hotel reservations just appeared."
"Cute. So you won them in a contest or something?"
"No. The blue fairy literally appeared and gave them to me with her magic wand."

Now suppose that you heard this from a source you trust. One who literally knows what literally means. One that you know is being perfectly honest with you. You know that X is true, but a 100% reliable source tells you !X.

And so here I sit, examining my preconceived notions. It's not a fun place to be.

Once I realized that the blue fairy might exist, but would never reveal itself to me, it actually made perfect sense.

Beware, also, the green fairy. For her drink is sweet and soothing, it will bring you maladies of the mind. Though be it madness she brings the trip in the basket will be ever so relaxing.
