Long Weekend With No Accomplishments

jamesqI have a cold and I'm medicating with beer (only one so far, so don't expect one of my normal spelling-error filled drunken posts).
The weekend was good, but I feel like I missed the opportunity to do something. Mostly I just relaxed and that was well needed, even if I was having a tough time just, you know, relaxing.

othelianna and we wandered to the Farmers' Market, then Ikea, then Princess Auto and finally we went to archery. I only shot an 80 - and it's nice to be able to say something as absurd as that again.
There was a surprising amount of people at archery - I especially like that CT hasn't managed to chase offminyata and cat_cetera yet. There both new to archery (S more so then N) but I'm a little afraid to help them out, lest I look like a smug know-it-all, or worse, fucking things up. Honestly, a lot of why I can shoot well is stuff that I'm still working out myself. Of course, I did manage to get vanishing girl and Blue shooting reasonably well with a minimum of input. Afterwards there was the pub. I made the mistake of ordering the nachos, which comes in one size - assload.
Saturday I watched Inglourious Basterds. I really want to not like Quentin Tarintino, because he's a smug jerk, but damn he's a good director. This is probably his best movie. Go see it, if you don't have a problem with over-the-top violence. Afterwards I was taught byminyata how to operate a sewing machine. I got it to work without fucking up at least 50% of the time! Sewing machines need to beep at you instead of going forward when the foot isn't down. I also watched some fine woobiness in the form of Supernatural with othelianna and cat_cetera.
Sunday we had a bunch of people over for lunch, among them,kermie_canada, hadriel, spookiemonkie2, conejita_diabla, sagaciouslu, catalytic, othelianna, garething, stephtopia. Cooking by thebrucie, dish washing by yours truly. Afterward there was Rock Band. Eventually everyone drifted off.
Monday I ran 8 km, had lunch with conejita_diabla, then she, othelianna, thebrucie and I went off to check out Crossiron Mills mall, the brand new mall between Calgary and Airdrie. It is notable for one cool thing - the Basspro shop. There's a place I could spend a lot of money in a hurry at. The rest of the mall was a mall. We ended up playing pool for a few hours at Shanks. I ended the evening by dropping people off.
So that was my weekend. Full of lot's of inconsequential stuff that was entertaining. Mostly just hanging out with friends, something I love doing because I know full well the alternative.
