Weird SCA-isms

From the vikvikingsson and ya_inga's last court:

Viscountess Nadezhda Volynskaiia stepped down as Kingdom Seneschal
and Master James Llewellyn ap Gruffyd assumed the position.

I wonder if that wording is intentional. As a former recovering Seneschal, I'm guessing yes.

I came up with an alternative device while responding to the tart folks at sca_snark:

Purpure, a wood screw proper to dexter, a baseball proper to sinister.

It probably won't pass though - I think someone else has it. Of course, in an earlier sca_snark thread, I referred to the society itself as a "brazen little trollop".

Silverwing's Laws of the SCA were an amusing read. I think it's 50% wise, 25% meh and 25% horseshit, but don't let the stink stop you from grabbing a few gemstones while you're in there.
