Mortgages, Irritating Sales People, VACATION.

Well the mortgage has been transferred over from TDCT to RBC. I now have a much better rate of interest and access to a wonderfully obfuscatory credit line that I'll only need occasionally.

And all I had to do was meet twice with a sales rep who was perky and insincere in equal measures. Damn, I am glad I never have to talk to her again, it was like chewing on tinfoil.

And it was all in the nick of time because I'm leaving town bright and early tomorrow to go to T&A War. Breakfast will be at Melissa's in Banff.

And then of course, Vancouver!!! Any suggestions for cool things to do on the coast will be gratefully accepted. I'm staying in the UBC residence while I'm out there.

We're leaving early tomorrow too... which route are you taking... I've have mixed messages about how busy the route via Jasper would be.

I'm taking highway 1 to Kamloops and then up highway 5 to the site. According to Google Maps this route takes an extra 20 minutes. For my twenty minutes I'm buying 1) a route I'm more familiar with and 2) more civilization in case I get car trouble. Plus I want to check out what they did around Golden - it was a pretty awesome piece of construction when I drove by a few years ago.

We thought of going via Jasper & back via Kamloops... not sure yet... I suspect we'll not decide until we reach Lake Louise tomorrow!

beware the damn Olympic construction. It's tearing up vast sections of the city (new sky train lines) and stuff.

It was well underway when I was out there last summer, so I know what to avoid. However, my plan is to simply park the car for the duration and take transit/walk/mooch rides while I'm there. Vancouver is a much better city in terms of pedestrian/transit friendliness.

During my accidental walk from Canadia place to the second narrows bridge I discovered a restaurant under the second narrows bridge. Go have dinner there. I think it looked cool.
