Council was today. It was the weirdest uneventful council I've ever had. That's the only way I can describe it.

A large group of people who don't normally come to council showed up (and given the condition of the roads, they must have felt a powerful need). They were all together and I saw a lot of shared looks and knowing glances between them as council went on. Something was going on.

It was exactly the sort of thing that you'd do if you wanted to block vote something unpopular through.

And nothing happened. They didn't ask to put anything on the agenda. They didn't really participate beyond the occasional question. The meeting did its thing (and there wasn't really that much business to discuss, we got through it all in 40 minutes, which is short) and it ended.

I felt like there was going to be a big fight and then it never materialized. I'm curious as to the dynamic that pushed this attendance, but I will probably be left with mystery.

or we just might want to be involved seeing as we'd pretty much taken a huge step back lately.

You're reading too much into our attendance.

thanks, I feel the warm welcome and the lurve!

James, you've no need to be paranoid. I can completely see what having us all arrive en masse may have caused people to think. Your other points were valid too. It could have been construed as a power block walking in, yes. As you can see though, none of us came to the meeting with any ill intent or malicous agenda.

Maybe we'll surprise you and show up for your last meeting as well. It seems to me that you've done a good job as seneschal. Congrats!
