Post-Christian Zombies

jamesqLets suppose that the Rapture actually occurs, but instead of people being bodily removed to heaven, God only takes their souls.
If (in this mythology) the soul is responsible for sentience, we suddenly have a large population of mindless people wandering about. If the soul is responsible for our morality, we suddenly have a large population of intelligent sociopaths. If both we get humanoid animals, possibly predatory, depending on how hungry they get. I imagine at Rapture+24 hours and beyond, they'd be awfully hungry.
It would be an interesting zombie scenario. For a non-supernatural version, replace Rapture with some kind of disease/event that destroys specific portions of the brain in roughly equivalent numbers.
