There's talk of making Avacal a Kingdom. Discussions on Yahoo::avacal_circus continue.
I feel an urge to jump into the discussion.
I also feel the urge to make politically incorrect observations that I'm sure lots of people are thinking, but are unwilling to say.
I also have paperwork due. I suppose I should work before I play.

Date: 2008-08-11 10:24 pm (UTC)When we were pursuing equestrian, I didn't think we had a hope in hell of succeeding. I didn't stand in anyone's way though - I said "go for it". And they stepped up and beat the tar out of my expectations.
Better to try and fail then to fail to try. As a make-believe, volunteer organization, the cost of failure is nothing but out own time.

*Shrug* Can't be bothered to read all these postings through. All this effort wasted in the breath could be better used just doin' it.

Date: 2008-08-12 03:08 am (UTC)Play or don't play only because of your own desires not because of the chances of seeing people who you have horrid past with. If I did that, I'd never go to an event ; )
Sorry for the hijack James...

Stand up and have your say. If we are only cautious in our public voices - what good are they?

Honestly, why ruffle feathers if not doing so gets the point across better and with less hassle?

Date: 2008-08-12 03:32 am (UTC)Be cautious, test the waters and treat the whole affair like a business environment. Say more when you know more. Comprimise can be an interesting possibility too though I suppose at some point some one is going to have stand up and say "Make it SO!" (Ah Picard, my hero).
Of course then you get someone else saying "NO!" and then well...
At this point personally I say horray for the kingdom of Avacal and in the end, I will still keep trucking along with the things I seem to have gotten myself into. Kingdom or not, they still need tending to. And will go forward with or without a nifty new set of crowns.
Now if only someone could give me a raise so I can spend more money on this damn hobby...
