The Other Piñata Idea

When discussing the Piñata duel idea I had last weekend at devoidofthought's party, we also came up with an idea for archery: Combat Archery Piñata!

Instead of blindfolded duelists, this would be an attempt to break open a standard Piñata with combat-blunted arrows in a series of speed rounds. They only thing I can't solve is how to handle people running forward to grab the Piñata guts once it's broken open. I sure as hell don't want people down-range while someone is shooting.

We could have two Piñatas. One for kids, full of candies and toys (and I have a box full of small toys from the garage sale waiting to be re-purposed or tossed); One for grown-ups, also full of candies and toys.

Get the Laurels to make the piñatas and get the bards to write bawdy songs about the poking, dampness and messiness and we've got every part of the SCA covered.

LOVED your comment about the pinata moving-target archery: I'm thinking of suggesting it to our Principality Minister of the Bow. I'm sure she'd get a kick out of it - we get VERY silly here in Cynagua.
