Just got a call from a pollster:

Pollster: "Hello, I represent Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Conservative Party of Canada - may I speak to the owner of the house?"
Me: "You are."
Pollster: "Are you a supporter of the Conservative Party of Canada?"
Me: "Absolutely not."
Pollster: "Thank you for your time. Goodbye." *click*

The lesson here is that PM Stephen Harper's not interested in what you have to say unless you're a Conservative.

I get one of these calls about once a year. It's less about polling and more about fundraising. Given that the Tories are cold-calling people, I suspect that they're burning through their money faster than they can raise it, especially with the caps on donations that exist now.
