My worst fears were not realized. The work weekend at the Quad War site went spectacularly. Lots of people came out and we got a ton of work done. We're going to try again in a few weeks (if you want to help out, contact me).

Some of the things we did:
  • Cleaned out the autocrat's shed (which was stuffed to the rafters with stuff and completely unorganized) and triaged the contents.
  • Retiled the roof of the shed.
  • Destroyed the infamous Lost Viking Triple-biffy.
  • Cleaned out the fourteen remaining biffies.
  • Built a new biffy from scratch.
  • Installed hooks and shelves in each biffy.
  • Cleaned, bleached and repainted the onsite showers.
  • Rebuilt the roof of a biffy that was blown over sometime last year during a windstorm.
What helped was everyone had a "we're all in this together" attitude, so everyone worked hard and didn't want to let the team down. On the other hand, we also knew when to relax and looked after each other to keep them from overdoing it.

Oh, and Beothuk almost burned down Saskatchewan. Photos will be forthcoming.

My gods you tore it down?! The whining, it won't stop! Anyway, glad it worked for everyone. It seemed like it was work weekend all around. I look forward to Quad.

Thanks the gods I was usually too far into my cups to notice the dilapidation. How was the wasp potential this year? We going to have another year of Hakkon and small children stung by their drinks?

Don't forget all the dead trees we cleared out!
