Purgatory, With a Short Layover in Hell

I'm going up to the Quad War site this weekend to help with the necessary yearly maintenance. Got off work early, grabbed all the stuff I needed to grab. And now I'm waiting.

I could have left over an hour ago, but the car's not at 100% right now (it needs an oil change). In the interest of not abusing it, I've opted to carpool with some others. Except they're all on SCA-time. Now normally that wouldn't bother me except:

1. I'm bored.
   
2. I'll be spending more then 1/2 hour with CT, and 1/2 an hour is about my tolerance for him.
   
3. it's six hour drive to the site, which means we're looking at getting there sometime in the wee hours.

Hopefully, the advance party will have set something up for us.

Last I heard, JW was at the archery range waiting herself. Then they would be heading to pick up CT, then to pick up me. I'm guessing they'll be about an hour asuming everything falls into place immediately. Honestly, if things go much past 8-ish, I'm going to abandon ship and drive up myself tomorrow morning. The car's not 100%, but it's also not in bad shape.

I'm also not looking forward to the weekend itself. I really want to just do nothing for a weekend, but I promised to help out with this. So I'm going to suck it up, then come back late Monday just in time to go back to work on Tuesday.

I just want to play Rock Band and relax.

an extra 500 to 1500 km's on an oil change isn't going to abuse your car. At least, that's what Honda told me way back before I started using synthetic oil...
