It was a long week and a longer Friday, but ultimately both were rewarding.

I've been expecting my Pointe of Screw settlement from my Lawyer all week. He told me it would be in my hot little hand by Tuesday. It was a no show though. Thursday night it occurred to me that my lawyer did not have my new address and was therefore sending important correspondence to Casa Cyr (which will stop being Casa Cyr next Wednesday). So I resolved to get up early before work and head down there to check the mail.

So 5:30 5:40 5:50 Friday morning I get up have quick shower and exit the house. No breakfast, no checking email, just out the door by 6:30.

I luck into some transit serendipity and get from Dalhousie to Altadore at the front door of Casa Cyr in (possibly my best time ever) 40 minutes. I let myself in and find that the house is empty. Absolutely everything (except a single chair and side table) is gone. The mess, the left over furniture, the boxes - all gone. There's something a little sad about that. The house I grew up with in it's finally few days before it gets torn down. I don't want to see it go but at the same time, the property can be used to make two homes for a pair of families. That's got to be an improvement right?

You've served us well.

Do you know what else I didn't find? My mail! It was then that It occurred to me that my sister was picking up the mail. So I locked up the shell and left and went to work.

On the way I went to the Belmont Diner in Marda. Good quality diner fare for a decent price. I love places like this. I was in the mood for some comfort food (a big heaping plate of fried eggs, sausage, toast with peanut butter and the best hash browns in the world) and they delivered. Their sister location, the Galaxy Diner in Beltline is just as good, except nobody ever goes there because it's always so crowded (thank you Yogi Berra).

Work was work. While there I phoned up my sister who did, in fact, have a letter for me from my lawyers. She dropped it off and I suddenly had a big whack of cash burning a hole in my pocket. Unfortunately, I also have a big debt burning a hole in my line of credit. I really should apply one to the other. I left early to deposit the check at RBC. I got there about seven minutes before closing.

And then I bought a DVD at Future shop and went home. Or at least towards home. Gareth called me up while I was buying a slurpee at the local Macs to find out where I was. He was at my house you see, picking up Carmen to go to see Resident Evil: Apocalypse (which I had agreed to go see). It seems they wanted to get going a little sooner than I.

So we went to Chinook Center and bought tickets, ate food, lost Gareth, regained Gareth, lost Kris, regained Kris and watched a spectacularly awful movie about bio-weapon zombies destroying (hee hee) Raccoon City. I think Carmen and I spent the whole movie giggling and making snide remarks to each other.
"Apparently Raccoon City (hee hee) has an ordinance banning the use of flashlights"
"Look, she came out of the tank with perfect lipstick"
"The bad guy is standing right there - just reach out and snap his neck. Kill. Him. Kill. Him."
"that's how I take out snipers in Duke Nukem - with a rocket launcher"
.It was an unintentionally funny move. I know this because our group was the only one laughing.

Afterwards I went home and chatted with Raven online for awhile. I mentioned to her that I had seen an advertisement for a show on YTV called "That's So Raven". if it were about the misadventures of a pretty goth chick, and it was on Showcase, I'd watch it.

Slept like the dead, but thankfully not like the undead.
