I read somewhere why that lion/tiger cross grew so big... don't know the truth in it but here it is anyway... the mechanism that limits grown in lions comes from one of its parents (male or female I can't remember) an in tigers it comes from the opposite parent. therefore when you cross the two parents that don't pass the mechanism on the resulting offspring just keeps growing!
