On the way to archer today, with [livejournal.com profile] othelianna and [livejournal.com profile] devoidofthought, I find that the car was rumbling, like I had a big piece of black ice stuck under the wheel well. I get to archery and put it out of my head.

After archery, on the way to the pub it's a lot worse. The pub's only 1K away from archery so I opt to drive straight there. Getting into the parking lot I pull out my flashlight and look under the car to see what's what.

Turns out my right rear tire has gone flat. Rats.

After pubbing, we head over to the Co-op gas station (which was closed) and I drive around the parking lot looking for an air hose to fill the tire with. This apparently attracts the attention of the local police because they pulled up behind me. They didn't actually talk to me mind you, because I stopped at the air hose and the tire was obviously flat.

They take off, I get out of the car (This order is important because I didn't want to be shot) and fill the tire with air. A sound check doesn't indicate an obvious leak (though leak it must have) and I take the long loop home past [livejournal.com profile] othelianna's then back to Pepperland. I drop [livejournal.com profile] devoidofthought off (and take my stuff out of the car) then drive it down the hill to the garage. I'd rather have it go flat there then in my garage.

Tomorrow morning, bright and early, I'll head down and tell them to fix the tire.

Now given the amount of shit I've had to deal with for the last few weeks, you'd expect me to be upset, but I'm not. A zen-like calmness passed over me. After all, all that other stuff is social, and I find social problems the most difficult. The tire on the other hand was entirely physical. Fix tire. Get on with your day. Easy.

I'd rather the tire wasn't flat, but as problems go, I'd rather have the easy-to-fix physical ones, rather then the hard-to-fix social ones.
