I'm not sure what you mean by system. You go to the site and check for movies near you. You apply and they send you a "not quite" ticket. They overbook, so there could be many more tickets then spaces, so go early. Other then that, it's just a free preview. I did the same thing last year for "Little Miss Sunshine".

They seem to do this with movies that are good, but likely to be overlooked. It's to generate word-of-mouth.

They probably keep track of the data you submit too.
