People who aren't sure if waterboarding is torture should be made to endure it until they know for sure.

Not sure where I heard it, but it was applied to Presidential Candidates.

Mark Evanier said something of the sort, but I think he might have been quoting someone else. He did say that this question was eventually going to come up, however:

"So, Senator McCain, now that you've had to drop out of the race for President, will you be endorsing a Republican nominee who condones and even recommends the use of torture?"

It's quite likely. The alternative, that he let his handlers think for him, isn't much better.

I doubt there's anyone that could convince Colin Powell to run for VP these days, let alone president. Some days, though, I think the Americans would be better off if someone could draft him into that office.
