Long time readers may remember this post that alludes to a murder in my neighborhood when I was a child. Today I got the following email:
While looking for some very old information from 1980 on the murder of "Kimberly Thompson" I came across your blog. In this entry you said you wondered what had become of the murderer of Kimberly Thompson. If your prepared for the answer I have it for you...

If you do not wish to be contacted further please reply stating this and I will never bother you again.
I think I will sleep on this.

And his conviction and the length... not surprisingly based on other crimes it was a life sentence... I haven't found out about about his parole status.

It seems that both a Calgary Herald journalist (based on the number of recent references to the case in the articles she's written) and a play write in Toronto (based on a google search) have interest/memories of the case.

I've got the two Calgary Herald articles with the most info copied to my in box.... I'm having a hurry up and wait type day, so I'm amusing myself with a mystery.

I understand completely - I wouldn't want to contact an INA (InterNet Alien) about this either - that's why I google-fu-ed it.
:)
I sent the articles to your gmail account... but noticed as I was sending them that the journalist's name and the date of the herald article did not copy over from the archive when I emailed it to myself... I'll re look the articles and email you the citations. Most science articles keep the citation info when you post from the databases so I hadn't thought to check.

Okay citations now sent too. The articles have disturbing info in them, or at least I found it disturbing.
