I was describing a curious phenomenon about sobering up last night, and how it made me sad without really being sad. Essentially, I was up and then, sobering up, I was back to normal. But my brain interpreted it as being normal, then having my mood drop to sad.
I described it mathematically, how going from +1 to 0 had the same difference as going from 0 to -1.
Is this a normal emotional response to sobering up?
I was tempted to stay at tipsy by hitting a bar on the way back to the hotel after my chocolate expedition, but opted not to. Drinking alone would have been bad. As it was, I was in an OK, but introspective mood for the rest of the evening. Chatting online helped keep me there.
