Womaniser, Alcoholic, War-profiteer, Hero

Iron Man is being released this weekend and I have high hopes for it. The trailers are kick ass and the casting seems spot on. Really, who could play a charming, sarcastic, rich, playboy, alcoholic war-profiteering womanizer better then Robert Downey Jr.?

It's been awhile since I've looked forward to a movie as much as this one. I think a lot of people are with me on it.

The most obvious reason is Iron Man is cool. On a scale of cool we can assume each of these is a factor of magnitude higher then the next one:

• Your first car.
• A sports car.
• Flying.
• Flying your own jet fighter.

Pretty much to get higher on this list you'd have to fly around blowing shit up with your own powered armour.

Tony Stark is pretty cool too. Who wouldn't want to be Tony Stark, even saddled with his negative attributes? Let's see - I get a brazillion dollars to spend, I can sleep with super models and fly around in powered armour and the only downside is I have to drink! Sign me up.

Hell, just working for Tony Stark would be cool. But then, I'd happily work for Hank Scorpio, even if he was a ruthless super-villian bent on world-domination. Unlike Scorpio, Stark's one of the good guys.

Don't disappoint me Marvel.
