50 Short Films About Quixote... )

So there I was at work, discussing Harry Potter with my coworkers (who are all older then I, and have gotten into Potter through their kids). One of the things that came up was the futility of trying to make a two hour movie about a 900+ page book. That's when it popped into my mind.

Someone needs to make a Harry Potter anime series

They could go into as much detail as they want. It could take as many episodes as needed to get everything right. It would be cheaper then filming it. There is a guaranteed fan base that would buy all of it, making this a no-risk financial proposition. All you'd have to do is convince Rowling, and the evidence suggests she likes money as much as the next person. She is richer then God and the Queen after all.

While I've never heard of anyone else suggesting this, somebody must have gotten here before me.

Completely unrelated, except that it's about animation, I have this question: Now that computer animation is the default way of doing things, do they redo the animation (I was going to say "reanimate" but that has a different connotation) of the mouths at the same time they re-record the voices for foreign releases. That is to say, when they do the German release of Ratatouille, does the German dialog "line up" with the character's lips?

Scott, a coworker is selling a grand piano (Yamaha G2 for $7K). Do you know anyone who might want to buy such a beast?

Oh, and if anyone else knows of a pianoless buyer, let me know.

--- Now with even more info! ---

I mentioned this in my reply to [livejournal.com profile] wee_megan but it stands repeating here at the root: The piano was manufactured in 1966. It's well maintained (and has never been touched by rug rats). It's 5'8" in size.
