Your car is covered in snow and you wish to take it for a drive. Do you:
  1. Clear the snow off your windows so that you can see clearly in all directions?
  2. Clear the snow off the signals/headlights/license plate so that they can perform their normal function.
  3. Clear the snow off your hood/roof/trunk so that large clumps of it don't fly off and hit other vehicles.
The correct answer is, of course, all of the above. But you wouldn't know that to see all the mobile igloos driving down the freeways this morning. One guy had brushed off half of his windshield, half of his rear window and the driver's side window. That's it. He blazed down Crowchild this morning in front of me, leaving a white trail of ice and debris like Halley's comet. I'd post his license plate number here except it was behind a miniature snow drift on his back bumper. I couldn't even tell you what kind of car it was. I did see the odd pocket of beige through the glacial crust.

Folks, I know this crap is all going to be gone by Sunday, but could you please clean your car off now.

An interesting blog I read about fundamentalism, and the problems it's having retaining people.

http://www.pacificviews.org/weblog/archives/002609.html

Short version:
"Christian fundamentalism has three great enemies in the struggle to retain its children, judging by the stories its apostates tell: weaknesses in its own teachings, science, and hypocrisy."
All of which say that when reality goes up against mythology, reality generally wins.
