Dreary Dreary Day
May. 21st, 2002 01:00 amWoke up today all ready to go running, looked outside and saw that it was raining. It has that typical Vancouver-in-the-fall look to it - drizzly rain and poor visibility due to the low lying clouds and fog. The difference being that Calgary's haze isn't low lying clouds - it's smoke from all the forest fires.
Sad news for Titanic watchers - Walter Lord has died. The legions of amateur Titanic historians probably wouldn't exist today if it weren't for Walter Lord. Titanic had become a footnote in history by the time he wrote his seminal work A Night To Remember in 1955. This book caused an explosion of popularity that has only grown to this day.
