I got to the airport with time to spare thanks to [livejournal.com profile] spookiemonkie2. I attempted Westjet's web checkin feature this trip. Might not do it again for the simple reason you can't book the emergency exit aisles (they don't want you there unless they think you can muscle the door open in a pinch). I persevered though and decided to take the last row of the plane. Problem is, the web checkin had the wrong plane information. I tried to find seat 23A on the plane only to discover that the plane stops at row 22! I didn't think the flight attendant wanted me sitting next to her in the jump seat, so they scrambled to find an empty seat for me. Luckily they did this. Incidentally, this screwed up a mom and her two young daughters too.

I disembarked in Victoria to find out that the weather forecast had erred on the side of shitty. They claimed it would be pissy, but it was merely a little chilly. Not even the sort of chilly that requires a jacket either - just a sweater.

Took one of the airport shuttles into downtown Victoria and it just happened to stop at the Dalton hotel, which is right beside Syn Bar and Grill, which is one of the reasons why I came to Victoria in the first place. It is one of the best places I've eaten out on the coast. However, since I can't convince my Vancouver peeps to ferry over to the island just for one restaurant, I opted to fly into Victoria, play tourist for the afternoon and eat supper there. Finally, I would ferry into Vancouver.

The best laid plans went awry though - the bar is closed for renovations. Fuckity fuck fuck.

So my big reason for being here has dried up. My plans now are to leave Victoria late in the afternoon (like 5-ish) and have a late supper in Vancouver with my friends.

In the meantime, the weather is crisp, Victoria is beautiful. I've taken antihistamines to ward off the sheer greenness of BC. The world is my oyster and I'll not let inconsequential setbacks stop me.
