jamesqI walked to work today. First time since injuring my leg 40 days ago. And I feel great. Hopefully I'll still feel great tomorrow.
I figured out how to convert my Mage game to D20 without hamstringing the existing characters, while at the same time introducing "normal" D20 style magic. It will take some writing though.
Tom Morton could win the Provincial PC leadershop race. If he does it will confirm to the rest of Canada every negative Alberta stereotype. Ugh. I'm really tired of introducing myself to people in Vancouver like this: "Hi, I'm from Calgary but I'm not a reactionary, homophobic half-wit."
Got introduced to Heroes last weekend. I'm now all caught up and loving this show. It's exactly what I've been wanting to watch since Joss Whedon stopped writing for television. If you like more realistic (cough) treatment of superheros (ala Wild Cards). Check it out.
Still pondering my Recognition World story idea. More on that later.

Date: 2006-11-16 07:43 pm (UTC)It simply amazes me that Albertans continue to stampede anytime that the word politics is mentioned. Have you ever hoticed, however, that the Conservatives seem to be the most adament in showcasing their
religious zealstrong belief that the Conservatives are the only right way to think, and will not even entertain a Liberal or NDP thought, or listen to an opinion that might possibly be contrary to their own? I find this even with those Conservatives who are not staunch party supporters - but it's they way that they were raised when lambs.(Klein's 'policy on the fly' seems to underscore this attitude)
The Liberals who I know, however, tend to be much more open minded - they listen to others, think about what they have to say, and have well reasoned arguments to back up their own opinions (in contrast to the infantile "I'm right because I'm right and I don't have to justify anything" whine that we seem to get from those a little further to the right. Perhaps it is because Liberals tend to be more devoted to their ideals and ideas than to the party. One of the Liberal MLAs that I know quite well in this town characterized himself as "a small "l" liberal" - and to me that speaks volumes. It speaks to a strong individual that I am proud to have representing me in my government. (Well, I'm stuck with a PC MLA - one who does a good job of warming his seat, and does not represent me or my interests - at least until the next election, but I speak as an Albertan!).
Ooops! Did I let my Liberal leanings slip out again?
