I think I'm the first among the local group to try this meme. Give it a shot.
Post a list of 10(ish) books/movies/TV shows that you've had a fannish love of at some time in your life.
-- Have your friends guess your favorite character from each one.
-- You can cross out the show/movie/book and put the character when someone guesses.

7) Dr. House
Just guesses really.

Date: 2006-08-28 05:13 pm (UTC)3) Of Course!
7) I do love House (else why watch the show at all) but it's not him.

Date: 2006-08-28 09:05 pm (UTC)2) I am thinking of Two-Edge, the clever Troll-Elf hybrid.
Or maybe Rain, for the laying on of hands.
Or maybe Petalwing, for its preservation of the old!
4) Xander, for surviving without special powers.
Besides, he often got the girl, the only problem was that the
girl was rarely human.
5) Fred, the smartest lady around.
8) Book, since we will never know what his background was.
I agree with Stephtopia about Kaylee, though.
9) Jake. Though I suppose an argument could be made for
the alien guy.
10) The caterpillar, because we know you are a leg man!
BTW: Wasn't the professor on Gilligan's Island?

Date: 2006-08-28 10:21 pm (UTC)My biggest problem with ElfQuest is that the story went on too long (and god knows I was guilty of aiding and abetting that by buying everything WaRP put out. It's been over ten years since I've read EQ and I think I've forgotten the mediocrity that followed its initial greatness. I think it might be time to reread the original and remind myself why I loved it.
4) Right guy for the right reasons!
5) I liked Fred, but she always struck me as a character written with the fanboys in mind. I couldn't get past that. My favorite was someone else.
6) Book was always a bit of a fifth wheel.
9) Think less with the bar and more with the brothel.
10) Arthropod types with the hookah pipes? Nope.

Date: 2006-08-29 02:53 am (UTC)5) Angel - Wesley. He really came into his own in this series. He went from comic relief to downright scary.

Date: 2006-08-29 02:55 am (UTC)8) We have a winner. Wash was a smartass and had some great lines. And how can you not love someone who plays with plastic dinosaurs!
10) Of course it's the Chesire Cat.

Date: 2006-08-29 04:25 am (UTC)1) Bwana Clyde Batty

Date: 2006-08-29 04:48 am (UTC)2) Skywise. He had honour and loyalty.
9) Although everyone loves Lady Sally, I think you would like to be friends with Maureen.

Date: 2006-08-29 12:26 pm (UTC)9) Nope. it's Joe the PI from "Kill the Editor" (a really good novella that Robinson turned into a really awful novel called "Lady Slings the Booze"). I liked him so much I completely stole him as the basis for an In Nomine character I played for awhile.
