[livejournal.com profile] hadriel and I got back to Cowtown safe and sound, unless you count the damage to my sanity and finances.

We got up early and managed to hit the road at precisely 8 AM as planned. We're pretty sure we didn't leave anything important behind.

We switched off driving periodically and (aside from eating and/or restroom breaks) pushed through the drive as fast as we could (safely).

Between Lake Louise and Banff, I got pulled over for speeding. I was trying to pass a truck just as the speed limit dropped, so I was going way faster then the posted speed. Fuck. [livejournal.com profile] godeater_sw, I may have broken your record!

That managed to depress me and now I sit here in a cold and empty house, my roommies all back in Vancouver where I want to be.

And, oh yeah, my MacBook is on the fritz, which is why I haven't been posting this week. I'm writing this on AVBOX, my primary Wintel computer.
Maybe I won 42 million. That would be nice, as would any non-trivial fraction of 42M.

the biggest ticket I've EVER been pulled over for was for doing 254 km/hr (in a 110 zone) just east of Fox Creek on my way home to see Mom at Christmas years ago... Because it was Christmas though, the officer was kind enough to knock it down to 40 km over... I was facing an automatic court appearance, impounding of my car, automatic suspension of my licence, and a fine well over 800 bucks... As it was, the fine was over $240.00.
