catalytic (and like him, I could just link to the idiosyncrasies post from a few months ago, but where's the fun in that?).
Ground Rules: The first player of this "game" starts with the topic "Five Weird Habits of Yourself" and people who get tagged need to write an LJ entry about their five weird habits as well as state this rule clearly. In the end, you need to choose the next five people to be tagged and list their names.
(note, I'm going to stretch the definition of "weird" and "habit" something awful)
1) I mentally count while I'm jogging. Every fourth step (that is, I count once for every left/right/left/right cycle), first to 100 in English, then to 100 in German, then from 100 in German backwards, then from 100 in English backwards, for a total of about 1600 steps - which is a good approximation of 1 mile at my pace. This started as an aid in figuring out how far I was going. I am now completely obsessive-compulsive about this to the point where I can't not do it while running.
I'm fine while I'm walking though.
2) My office (at home) has become like the lost elephant burial grounds. The difference being that instead of tons of ivory, there's tons of ancient computer equipment. I'm always "just about to" get it all fixed up and ready to sell/give away.
3) I secretly write porn. What's so secret about it if I mention it here? I'm not going to tell you where it is. (and anyone who does know had better not reveal it or you are no true friend)
4) I collect different versions of "I Only Want to Be With You". In addition to the original Dusty Springfield version I also have Bay City Rollers, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Nicolette Larson, Vonda Shepard. I'm always on the lookout for more (hint hint).
5) I always compare notes with the people I know who are also in Weight Watchers. Partly this is to brag, but also as a way of keeping track of how I'm doing relative to other people in my social circle.
Who to tag? Hmm. I pick_grog_ (because he doesn't normally do memes), bognaustroglum (because he needs to get into this whole live-journal thang), heathertree (because I haven't heard from the strawberry amongst the peaches in a while), gifted_spirit (to see if she's reading) and bungle_lord (because it amuses me).
