Baby I Can Drive My Car
May. 14th, 2001 09:14 pmAfter seventeen years of only being able to drive dangerously while under supervision, I can now drive dangerously by myself! Yes, I now have my driver's license.
Passing the exam was made difficult by the defective car I was in. The accelerator had about an inch of give so that you could either go under thirty or above sixty. Ugh. Thankfully, the instructor noticed that it wasn't me. Then halfway through the drive we could smell burning rubber and the accelerator worked properly again.
Everyone I have told this to has asked the same question, and I will answer it here now: No, I have no intention of buying a car anytime soon.
Unfortunately, this little exercise has demonstrated something to me: I really don't like driving much - I seem to be a natural born passenger.
