Illness in Time For a Four-day Weekend
Nov. 11th, 2010 10:59 amSo I was feeling low-grade crappy last night, but I still went out for a few hours to the pub with
othelianna (we were hoping for others to join us, but shit happened). Bad enough that I didn't want to do any drinking, which was fine.
As the evening out progressed, I was feeling better, but it was not to be. Around 1 in the morning the chills started. I was shivering uncontrollably and trying to find a comfortable position to relax so I could sleep through whatever the hell I had. After a few hours of that the fever set in and I did manage to fall asleep. I woke up weak, achey but still better then I felt last night. I'm hoping whatever the hell hit me is short lived as I would like to enjoy this weekend.
I sense having a big breakfast or lunch is not the smartest thing I could do. On the bright-side, I'm not all that hungry.
So I was thinking about going to Banff today - even had a few people lined up ready to go. That's not in the cards now. I think I'll spend the day on the couch alternately watching TV and reading a trashy Stephen King novel.
Bad as I feel, I am well aware that it's preferable to being in the trenches at Dieppe or Juno beach. For those who served, I cannot express my thanks enough.

Date: 2010-11-11 08:55 pm (UTC)Also I have you beat. In the middle of my two week vacation my husband decided to move out. I woke up Saturday morning and he said "I'm moving out today." He didn't give any indications the night before or in the preceding week. But I'm doing the best I can.
Anyway, I do hope you feel better so you can enjoy your time some.
