Democracy seems somewhat healthier this year in Calgary then it has in years past. Or at least the lineups at the polls are longer. I suspect this has something to do with there not being an incumbent running for mayor.

Be advised that you might be there for awhile. For reference, I was at my polling station for about 30 minutes immediately after they opened.

Expect it, prepare for it, but go do it.

No line-ups at my poll, sadly... this election has been really exciting, and my family and friends are like democratic spitfires this year! I was looking forward to a line. But it took less than 5 minutes in and out.

But maybe it's not so sad - my neighbours, after all, are the good people that vote Rob Anders in year after year :P Let them be complacent. Maybe this is the year I will have voted for a winner :-)
