Neat article, I've wondered about some of those things.
Though I have to say, I someone comes up to you and say, "Hi we'd like to use your songs and expose a new generation of listeners to your music in a way not possible to you otherwise" I'd like to know who the hell is saying no.
Possibly inexperienced people who worry their masterpiece will be reduced to eight bit parodies of the original and would really rather not hear it that way. Or people who fear this might be likened to licensing their work for a commercial and have long ago vowed not to "sell out to the man".
