When Popcorn Goes Psycho
Aug. 15th, 2002 09:07 pmHot-air popcorn poppers are not a recent invention, so why is the Toastmaster so poorly designed? It pops the popcorn all right, but the chamber is so shallow that every time a kernel pops, at least one unpopped kernel shoots out. This has two effects, first, about half of the popcorn remains unpopped (I know because I measured the unpopped kernels - which reminds me, is there a hyphen in anal-retentive?). Second, some of the unpopped kernels pop after burying themselves under the popped popcorn - sending it all over the table and floor.
It's my own damn fault - I got the cheapest one I could find. Oh well, it's going back next week.
