Quad War Anxieties
Jul. 28th, 2008 11:57 pmFeeling really anxious today, for no good reason.
I had a nice lunch with
othelianna and also had a fitting for my new garb. Things are looking up there, but she does need to move too, so I'm not 100% convinced it's going to be there at Quad. Oh well, I've packed enough kilts for a Scot's pub on football night, so I should be good there.
Afterwards I emptied the truck and proceeded to repack it so full I think it's in really danger of popping some rivets. There's a bunch of stuff on top too. But I did manage to get absolutely everything into it. Of course, I'm packed in there like a Mercury astronaut. Oh well, a lot of that stuff is not coming back with me (five tables, 64 litres of assorted beverages, everything I can convince the original owners to take back in other vehicles).
Thankfully there's a minimum of turns on the way to the site. It's going to take me a bit longer then normal to get there because I'll be driving like an old guy with a hat the whole way and it's an unfamiliar vehicle. As long as I avoid Lacombe, I should be fine.
Pretty much nothing is stopping me from leaving first thing in the morning. I hope to be on the road by ten.
Wednesday I'll be busting my ass helping to get the site up to snuff (though I think we're damn near done). Thursday? Let the event - and my lack of pants - begin!

Date: 2008-07-29 01:36 pm (UTC)Damn. I wish gas were still $0.25 an Imperial gallon. I would SO own a Buick. Or a Crown Victoria. Or a Lincoln.
Now, get the hell off my lawn...
