Despite Everything, I'm Still a Slave to Peer Pressure

A curious phenomena has been observed when I'm at a party. There will be no making out for anyone if I am there. Not necessarily making out for me you understand (though that is a subset) - it's no making out for anyone. If I leave a party early, the making out will begin. Doesn't matter when. If I leave at 9 pm, it will occur after 9. If I leave at 2 am, it will occur after 2 am. If I spend the night it won't happen at all. I've even had friends who knew about this weirdness deliberately try to break it and fail.

Basically I have this psychic field that thwarts romance.

Now this doesn't mean that I suck the life out of any party I'm in, plenty of other fun stuff might happen. I do get repeat invitations, so I can't be that much of an asshat, even when liquored up.

This is all a preamble to me joining Facebook. Now that I'm part of the party I predict its demise as a social networking tool. Sorry.

Come to think of it, I do not recall much of this making out phenomena when I am at gatherings. But then again, I have not been at many gatherings lately.
Have you thought about hiring yourself out for chaperoning high school events?

It's been my experience that you can't thwart curses by making them work for you. The gods see all and they don't appreciate a smart ass.

As for parties back when the holt was a going concern. There wasn't any making out going on because everyone was a prude. I hang with a much less prude-like crowd now, so the possibility exists, even if the actuality doesn't.

Or something.

There's probably no grope-festing going on, it's just a bunch of people 'claiming' to have been doing it. LIke at ACAD and all the rumors of people 'misusing' the drawing boards (which are very uncomfortable, apparently)...
