nosarious brought home a Chick Tract. Reading it, I discovered the principle message of the Jack Chick Ministries: It doesn't matter if you're good or evil, it only matters that you kiss God's ass. Mother Theresa is currently writhing in agony in a pool of magma. Whereas a serial killer who accepts Jesus Christ into his heart is singing hosannas as part of the heavenly choir. Which is nice for the serial killer I suppose, but not so good for Mother Theresa.

I think Mother Theresa should get partial credit for people that she saved that later went on to be born again. Perhaps she could get paroled out of unending agony around the time the sun goes nova. He is a just and loving god after all.

I tend to find things at LRT platforms and bus shelters. This is one of the safer ones.

Of course, the two plastic paratroopers with parachutes I am keeping for myself. It's for my "found objects" project. I think I shall modify it somewhat. Nothing says "American" than a red plastic paratrooper with a tutu.

We imagine evil gods all the time. They exist in numerous mythologies, both "real" (in that they have worshippers) and fictional. What is it about the concept of god that presupposes they must be benevolent?

Wasn't the sin of Sodom and Gommorah the fact that they were rapists? That they wanted to rape (male) angels was just a detail.

It might be the desire to avoid the implications that would come from willingly serving something malign or uncaring. Worship of the former suggests cowardice. Worship of the latter suggests desperation.
