If you read this, if your eyes are passing over this right now, even if we don't speak often, please post a comment with a memory of you and me. It can be anything you want -- good or bad. When you're finished, post this little paragraph on your blog and be surprised (or mortified!) about what people remember about you.

I remember how helpful and patient you were with me as a tag-along on the archery range at Dragonslayer. You made me feel very welcome and not at all the uninformed 3rd wheel I was ; )

I too remember you at DragonSoaker... you were eating sushi which at that point I hadn't tried. I'm not a big fan of fish at the best of times & the idea of eating it raw... but since then I have been brave & tried it... as you & other suggested I started off with California rolls & have tried eel, salmon (I prefer the smoked variety) and was even brave enough to try ones with roe once I was reassured that it didn't taste like caviar (eww). We'll have to meet up sometime & you can help me continue my sushi education :)

It's that pause before the nod.

Incidentally, if you're still looking for something to leave you feeling accomplished, have you considered (be warned, there's background noise): climbing the Calgary Tower (http://www.climbforwilderness.ca/index.htm) next Saturday for charity? I'm willing to put the first $20 down on you (one must raise $100 to participate).

Actually, a clearer memory is sitting in L.,T./G.,&E.'s appartment discussing politics, religion, and society during the evenings with the group of us that hung around there.

I think those were some of the best intellectual conversations I've had. Mostly because there was a level of acceptance and respect there that allowed us all to discuss ideas even if we never agreed with each other. IIRC it didn't seem to decay into non-rational fights, which considering the diverse views in the group is in retrospect suprising.

Can I ever forget first meeting you when JN introduced us up at the UofC? As I recall, he was feeling decidedly under the weather.

I distinctly remember meeting you and Bruce to see Drunken Master 2. We met at the little fast food-y place in the theatre. I mentioned that I liked the name of the place, Alan Smithee's and we riffed on the name for about five minutes. I think you were one of the only people I knew at the time who would get the reference.

Shouldn't we finish the sentence (if you are thinking of the same episode that I am involving James and your sister around 1990... that was only, what, 17 years ago now?) as "...orange fuzzy thing?"

no...
No orange funny thing in there.

R., trying to discount all of my friends as potential dating material, stated that anyone over the age of 16 was funny looking. At the time I was 17 (but that was significantly more then 17yrs ago), because it was during the year that G. was ataying in the basement while he found an apartment.

We all spent the next 3 years bugging her about her 16th birthday. Then the holt had a really big party for her "Funny Looking" birthday. Much of the joke and revenge plans were carried out by the guys that were in the room that day - Q., G., and L.

:)
... perhaps you are thinking of the party - which would have been 1990ish.
