Ostara Feasting
Apr. 7th, 2007 11:26 pmIn other news, Easter dinner was great. I bought a roast and
kermie_canada braised it in a slow cooker all day. It didn't so much get sliced before serving as shredded. She also baked cinnamon rolls.
thebrucie made mixed drinks for everyone (I had a pair of strawberry daiquiris).
hadriel contributed salad, potatoes and cooked some vegetables.
spookiemonkie2 lent his considerable moral support.
nosarious was late so we made him clean up dishes. K took care of all the kid stuff while Angus and Shiva, being cats, took care of the napping.
My contribution was the brand new dining room table I picked up at IKEA today. I assembled it while others were cooking. I also discovered the joy of drinking while assembling things. It makes everything go smoother. Now I know why Bruce cracks open a beer before digging into the guts of his computer.
I may not eat tomorrow, because it's been five hours since dinner and I'm still stuffed. All my WW bonus points are gone, but that's OK because I don't think I actually went over for the week.
And there was much good socializing with my friends. My only regret is that I didn't have double the number of people over. I mean, the new table can expand, and we still had the other table assembled. We could have seated 16! Maybe for the next big holiday. It makes me wish I was like
wendy_licious and
wackynephews, who can always organize great parties and have huge turnouts. Me, not so much. Oh well, I'll handle those things I'm good at and leave others to their strong points.
